I can’t speak highly enough of this excellent plug in. If you’re not using it on your WordPress you’re missing out, period.

Unsurprisingly, what we’re talking about is a SEO tool, but what a tool. It does pretty much everything you could need. It guides you through the general tagging of your site step by step and then allows you to SEO every page, with titles, descriptions and Tags.

It’s foolproof to install and operate and can only improve your site, ok, posts will take a bit longer, but the small amount of extra effort will pay dividends.

AJAX IM  (”asynchronous javascript and xml instant messenger”) is a browser-based instant messaging client. It uses AJAX to create a near real-time IM environment that can be used in conjunction with community, intranet, and social websites. No refreshing of the page is ever needed for this “web application” to work, as everything is updated in real-time via JavaScript.

It’s very pretty looking and quite stunning. It has logIn function built in, an Admin panel, even some cool effects if you forget you password etc.

It takes a few seconds to load but so does any chat module. It looks far far better than the tat used by companies such as HostGator *shudders at thought of hideous IM Interface* , you should give this a try, it’s great and demands your attention.

ModalBox is a JavaScript technique for creating modern (Web 2.0-style) modal dialogs or even wizards (sequences of dialogs) without using conventional popups and page reloads. It’s inspired by Mac OS X modal dialogs. And yes, it may also be useful for showing larger versions of images.

ModalBox is built with pure JavaScript and is based on Sam Stephenson’s excellent Prototype JavaScript Framework, script.aculo.us and valid XHTML/CSS. ModalBox uses AJAX to load content.

That’s the blurb and I have to agree with it. Modalbox is nothing short of stunning. In 10 minutes I was ‘mashing it up’ with SPRY Datasets, creating a really amazing way to display a Database. I’ll be releasing the ‘Mash-Up’ later this week, so stay tuned.

It’s very easy to customize and works in all popular browsers. It runs better in FF, IE is a lot more fussy about usage. You could use this for countless things, Log In Boxes and Site Tours seem the most obvious followed by a Contact Form.

Possibly one of the better uses of AJAX, Dragable Boxes allow end users to move around parts of your website to their preference.

The great thing about this script is that the users preferences get stored in a ‘cookie’, sadly it’s not a real biscuit so there’s no sweet treat for including this script. Anway, phantom biscuits aside, it’s a great script and quite easy to implement it.

I know for a fact it’s what Nick La uses in his great iTheme .

This is an excellent plug in from the young Lester Chan . It enables you to add a ‘Star-Rating’ to every post on your blog. All you need to do is define where you want it to appear by inserting one line of code and that’s it you’re away. It has a great interface offering pretty much every option you’ll actually need. Obviously, it takes just seconds to install and no extra mySQL db is needed.

This is a great little plug in that adds a huge level of interactivity to an existing blog or site.

Relay is an excellent directory manager powerd by AJAX. It runs of a mySQL database for extra power. It really puts to shame many of the other alternatives. It has a nice modern interface and a very easy Configuration. It would of great use to any website that shares files with it’s members. It can even provide stats on who downloaded what.

This is quite quirky but i belive it could be of great use to photographers or certain retails sites. The script allows you to actually zoom in on an image. The problem is that it can’t see detail that isn’t there. Maybe people dealing with large, highly detailed images would benefit from this script most.

This is an excellent little Script that provides you with a nice little framework. It’s a very easy to configure Contact Form that doesn’t need to refresh the page to ’send’ a message. Although it’s simple and some may say it’s needless, it actually has many practical uses. For instance, you could place it in the footer of every page on a ‘Customer Contact Crucial Site’, that way the Customer is always just seconds away from a means of contact. Furthermore, it won’t disturb their browsing.
